Should your child experiences a dental emergency, please call our office. (760) 419-3388 The answering machine will give you instructions on how to page the doctor.
Please do the following:
- Knocked-Out Tooth: If your child has lost a permanent tooth, we ask that you hold the tooth by the crown (the visible portion of the tooth that was generally seen while it was in the mouth). If the tooth is dirty, rinse the tooth without scrubbing the surfaces. Then, if you can, try inserting the tooth back into the socket without forcing it . If that is not possible, we ask that you keep the tooth in a cup of milk or saliva.
- Chipped or Broken Tooth: If your child has chipped or broken their tooth rinse the mouth with cool, salt water and apply a cold ice pack to the area. Call Dr. Reder’s office.
- Abscess: If your child suffers an abscess tooth, this is a condition that is painful and requires an immediate discussion with Dr. Reder. An antibiotic may be required. We recommend that you call and make an appointment as soon as possible.
- Lost Filling: If your child loses a filling, or a crown, it may or may not be painful. Do not ignore this problem. Please contact us as soon as possible.
